Stumble Upon Gold♦

I love Stumble upon. I have been hooked since Attack of the Show first recommended it over four years ago. It is the perfect way to surf the web. I could never explain to people why I love this simple little application so much. That was up until about five minutes ago.
I live 5000 miles away from my family and friends and we all* use Stumble upon not only to share funny things we find on the web but also to talk to each other. So today when I was pretending to clean my desk off, I had the best conversation with my younger sister via Stumble upon. who for a whole month and two weeks was a vegetarian (I know don't freak out she saw sense and came back to the light side). It started with the above photo and her telling me that she isn't a veggie freak any more and me asking her why she stopped. Her reply, "i kept craving chicken and i couldn't find anything to stop the craving... mmm bbq chicken" (notice the quote marks this is verbatim) to which my reply was, "LOL .... chicken is the black peoples one true weaknes that and spinning rims" GOD I LOVE THE INTERNET!!!!!!!

What I woke up To

This is what my back yard looked like at 7:00 am Now take one more look at the date IT'S BLOODY APRIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No this is not a late April Fools Day gag....

April Showers May Flowers

April showers bring May flowers

So if the above statement is true then what does April snow bring? That's right today in London it snowed. When I say it snowed I am not talking about a light dusting I snowed for 5-6 hours. It snowed enough for me to make a snow man (okay so he was a snow midget but a man non the less) I live in some sort of alternate universe where they say global warning and they mean it's going to be cold and wet with the possibility of snow for 11 months and 2 weeks of the year.

I have been addicted to Stumble Upon for going on 4 years now. I have pushed this Internet version of heroin on to many of my friends and relatives. But only in the past few months has Stumble Upon really affected my life in a positive manner. This is down to the fact that my mother has FINALLY started to use it and now we have conversation via Stumble Upon everyday. It has stopped being an application to pass the time between my random thoughts and now has become a communication tool. I LOVE TO STUMBLE

Star Wars Stuff

I stumbled upon this little gem of a couple of days ago. Some will find it amusing and some will stand up and point at there monitors and call me a NERD!!!

http://www.crisdias.com/2008/02/20/produtos-rejeitados-de-star-wars/

Chocolate chip sticky buns

Chocolate Chips Sticky Buns

4 Cups White Flour

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1/4 Cup Unsalted butter cut into small pieces

1/4 Cup Caster Sugar

1 packet Easy-blend dried yeast

1 Egg Yolk

1/2 Cup Water

4 Tbsp Milk

3 Tbsp Maple syrup

For the Filling

3Tbsp Unsalted butter melted

1/3 Cup Muscovado Sugar Or Light Brown Sugar

1 Cup Plain Chocolate Chips (I used plain and milk)

3/4 Cup Chopped walnut (I used Almonds)

Step 1:

Grease a deep 23cm/9in springform cake tin. Sift flour cinnamon into a bowl, then rub in the butter until the mixture looks like coarse breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar and yeast

Step 2:

In a bowl, beat the egg yolk with the water and milk, then stir into the dry ingredients to make a soft dough.

Step 3:

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth, then roll out to a rectangle measuring about 40 x 30cm/ 16 x 12 in

Step 4:

For the filling, brush the dough with the melted butter and sprinkle with the sugar, chocolate chips and nuts.

Step 5:

Roll up the dough from one long side like a Swiss Roll, then cut into 12 thick even size slices. Pack close together in the tin. Cover and leave in a warm place for about 1 hour and 30 mins or until well risen and springy. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 220C/425F

Step 6:

Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack. Brush maple syrup while still warm. Pull swirls apart to serve.

For an added bonus mix up some butter cream frosting with a hint of vanilla and spread on top
